You can tell when you're improving or changing when other people say, "man you've changed." Friends have told me I have become nicer; my lady says I'm not as annoying and I love it because these are changes I am slowly working at.
There are some things I think make you healthier. First, improving your relationships with yourself, your spouse, family, and friends. The fastest way to improve relationships is to assume all responsibility, blame, and fault.
Say to yourself for any problem in your life; "it's my fault." When you say this to yourself, it begins to help you alleviate the pain and also helps you find out how to fix the conflict or circumstance. Try it out.

Money Will Hold you Down!
I was sitting around watch television when my lady comes and just changes the channel on me to VH1 (king of stupid reality television shows), and I see this show called "I Love Money." It reminded me of this online book called, "Who Loves Money," by Kyle and Carson of WA... anyway I see these people competing so viciously to win, the ultimate prize of $250,000 dollars. That is a lot of money by any ones standards, especially in this economy - and right there I realized why it is written that the love of money is the root of all evil. If you love money, it is impossible to be a good person. You will find yourself always pleasing that little idol in your head called money.
You'll find out that $50K is nothing and $50M will not satisfy your taste-buds. I sat back and saw that money is only a means to an end. If I want a burger, a few bucks and a drive to the store will cure that. It is necessary, but it is not to be loved.
But we all have to make money to survive. It's the way of the world now. So instead of chasing after money, I recommend you find a craft or skill that you enjoy or one that you know will pay well in exchange for a service you don't loathe. Get really good at it.
Next you want to find out what will be an income you can live COMFORTABLY on and make it a goal to reach that. Money will hold you down; but to love money is not civilized.

Keeping Control
Life usually presents the easiest or easier thing in front of us first, then shows us what the correct thing to do is, which of course appears much more difficult.
It's easier to throw your cloths on the floor, it's easier not to take a shower, it's easier to use dishes and leave them on the table (not even put them in the sink for someone else to wash).
Because all of these things are easier - careers are born and great men or women who find out all the things that are easier NOT to do, they do them and become filthy rich. Thus showing us the majority of us are lazy and take the easier path.
This plays into keeping control of ourselves; and not always taking the, "easy-road." When we get angry we take the easy road and yell, swing, smote, or in bad cases, kill our target. That is the easy road. You felt the anger first, lost control and boom. The easy thing always shows up first.
Understanding this we should always take to thinking twice - as the right thing to do will show up. This will force you to keep control and make the good decision.
It's not an easy thing to do - so it's best to practice...everyday.
