I was sitting around watch television when my lady comes and just changes the channel on me to VH1 (king of stupid reality television shows), and I see this show called "I Love Money." It reminded me of this online book called, "Who Loves Money," by Kyle and Carson of WA... anyway I see these people competing so viciously to win, the ultimate prize of $250,000 dollars.
That is a lot of money by any ones standards, especially in this economy - and right there I realized why it is written that the love of money is the root of all evil. If you love money, it is impossible to be a good person. You will find yourself always pleasing that little idol in your head called money.
You'll find out that $50K is nothing and $50M will not satisfy your taste-buds. I sat back and saw that money is only a means to an end. If I want a burger, a few bucks and a drive to the store will cure that. It is necessary, but it is not to be loved.
But we all have to make money to survive. It's the way of the world now. So instead of chasing after money, I recommend you find a craft or skill that you enjoy or one that you know will pay well in exchange for a service you don't loathe. Get really good at it.
Next you want to find out what will be an income you can live COMFORTABLY on and make it a goal to reach that. Money will hold you down; but to love money is not civilized.
