Hey finally I did it. I went ahead and joined the bandwagon. I jumped the fence, I dived into the pool, I crossed that line, I went off the limb, I opened the gates, I DID IT.
I joined facebook. I know, many are cheering while the people that know me best are wagging the head in disappointment. Go ahead, go ahead do as you wish. But I finally saw the great usefulness in it; and it has not yet perverted itself (facebook), as it's progenitors have in networks like hi-five, blackplanet, and myspace have.
Here is my profile - Yes I did it. Now you have to dig around me to find me. I'm not under my popular email address, I don't post my schools on there (although I may), I don't search for people. I'm on there for merely professional reasons.
I even did the twitter thing; but not for myself, I do it under my business partner's hand Antonio Dannes. It is good for it's good purpose, and I can only hope it does not get perverted. In working on your personal relationships, social networking is a key tool you can use.
You know in today's world, it is very hard to keep up with people when you have a family, a job or career, and a host of other obligations. These social networking sites can be very instrumental in keeping in touch.
I was against it originally because I always steer away from things that the vast majority of people run towards. Too many people will usually pervert a thing. However, I have seen controlled measures in Mr. Facebook to prevent this, and I am happy with its service.
There you have it, use tools like this to work on your personal relationships. However, do not stalk me on there!
