Life is Not a Game!

Lot's of people say "Life is not a game." They say this because of how serious life appears to be for so many people. You have killings, rapes, drugs, scandals, rich, poor, and many other things including DEATH that make you look at your best friend and say, "Man life ain't no joke."

I agree, life is no joke, but I disagree that it is not a game. Life is a game. When you view it like such, you might fair better in life. What I mean is that when you look at sporting events, these things are taken very seriously. In basketball games guys are ready to go to blows, fights start, the passion kicks in and most viewers will sit back and say, "It's just a freaking game."

Make your best Moves
It's just a freaking game, but we pin guys as losers if they do not win a NBA title before their playing days are over. So if a game can be taken that seriously, certainly you can argue that it is not a game anymore. On the other hand, you can argue that it is as serious as life, and they are both games. Life is a game in which to come out successful is the winning quest. To play a game at a high level, you need to be prepared!

PERIOD!

The key is not to play the life game competitively as a basketball event. Instead you are to play it like it like the game of golf. You play against the course. You are playing against life itself. This way, if another man is minus18 (-18) and you are minus 7 (-7) you are still winning against the course.

In sporting events there is a lot of visualization going on for the top athletes. This is part of their preparation. A lot of strategy, study, and mental rehearsal in order to be best prepared for the game. We get it confused thinking we don't have to do the same thing when it comes to "real life."

What a joke!

Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen use to sit down and strategise how they would beat their opponents. They sat down for early morning breakfast discussing how they would destroy Isaiah Thomas, Patrick Ewing, and any other would-be competitors. This certainly takes planning. What is your plan in life?

The average person (don't settle for average) does not sit back and plan their life. The Bible clearly gives the blueprint of how we should go about our lives. Have a clear plan for how you want your life to go.

Have you ever wondered how the heck you got to a certain low point in your life. I was there once, and I was wondering to myself, this is not what I thought about doing when I was a youngster. At the time, I was cleaning toilets and taking out trashes.

Now that is not all that bad, someone has to do these jobs; and I would leave it to the guy who walks into a public bathroom and is fed up with the nastiness and filth of the restroom and goes out and makes a business plan that shows how he will keep all bathrooms clean. He hires guys and gals dedicated to cleanliness. So when you go into the bathroom, it is clean, and you don't have to feel sorry for the janitor because he or she planned to be there, they enjoy what they do and they do their best.

However, for me that was not how my story went as a child. So to find myself there when I wanted to be somewhere else, I asked myself, "How the heck did I get here?" I truly felt like the wind was blowing me any which way and I would land wherever it wanted. That is a position of absolutely no control; I didn't like that position. You probably don't either.

That is when I began to write out a plan. I pictured in my mind how my life would go as I would be most happiest with it. I pictured it clearly and began to write it out. I can see it, I can feel it, I can touch it; and it is a game to me. The more of it I get actualized, the more points I get.

It is that simple; it is a game and when you say or think life is a game, the average person is thinking you don't take it serious.

NOT SO!

I take it as serious as Lebron James took his first winning title run in 2012 when he stopped all the clowning around, twittering, and all the stuff that clouds your focus. I take it as serious as Mike and Scottie took their six title runs. I take it as serious as any successful person takes their craft. Yeah it may be a sports game to most people, but the best at their craft take it serious. You gotta be all in in life; you gotta take the game seriously. You gotta work hard, you gotta know how to win.

You can't win if you are not in control. Get in control. "Life is not a game" some say, but I think it is and the winners live above average lives in the present; but the BIG WINNERS learn how to live forever. Play this game, play to win, have fun.
